First conceived as a short film, FLOODWATERS premiered on three screens for one week prior to each showing of “The HANGOVER 3” AT Canal Place Theaters in New Orleans. After extensive research and interviews, FLOODWATERS was developed into a full-length screenplay that placed in the top 15% of Academy Nicholl Fellowship Screenplay Competition. Updating the story to reflect current events, this current version of FLOODWATERS is positioned to be the first major film to portray the consequences of a police shooting, not only on the cops and victims, but also on the community at large.
